Jennifer, I have been following your journal for many years now and it has always been very inspiring. "My Time is Now" reaffirms a decision I made last year and recently made 'official'. I have 2 young children; my daughter will be 3 tomorrow, and my son 2 in July. My hubby and I bought a house north of the metro area 6 years ago, which increased my drive to work from 10 minutes to an hour. Now, having children, I feel like I am missing out on so much of their lives and it breaks my heart every day. Luckily they have been in my mom's daycare, but leaving the house at 5:30am and getting home after 5 everyday is the pits. I recently resigned from my job (where I have worked for 11 1/2 years), and am in the process of becoming a licensed daycare provider. We can't afford for me to be a stay-at-home mom, but this will be the next best thing :-) I love children, especially my own, and even though I am nervous and scared (and at times think I am a bit crazy!) I feel that He will guide me and make sure that everything works out how it is supposed to. Thank you for sharing your words - they have helped me through many tough times during the last few years.

It was a gift to have you at our meeting, Jennifer! I'm so glad that you were able to enjoy Excelsior and "Simply Nuts"! (I think of that store name when I think I'm going nuts myself-haha!) It's such a peaceful place to go with children, a special someone or to retreat by yourself and I hope you make it back. Again, your message of being HERE NOW resignated with all of us. We thank you for being with us!

I'm excited to take this "trip/tour" with you! The one thing I think about when I think Excelcior... EXPENSIVE! lol I don't think I've ever even been there unless I was passing through. I love your internship idea!! :)

I love this post (partly because I grew up in Minnetonks so I know/knew Excelsior very very well!). I'm reading Donald Miller's A Million Miles in a Thousand Years and it's about story ... living a good story.
