I don't write down everything my kids say to me, but I write down a lot of our conversations because of the simple, hidden lessons they hold that remind me how to live, love and laugh.

Yesterday Jordan asked me, "Hey Mom, how many years have I lived with you?"
"All seven," I told him.

"Mom, I have an idea! How about you lay down on the driveway and I'll trace you with chalk?" Maddi asked me today.
"But, what if I get all dirty?" I said.
"It's okay, Mom...it wipes off and you know how to do laundry."

Yelling out the patio door to his friend, Jordan said, "I'll be right out to play, Kyle...I just have two more consequences before I earn time to go outside."
Kyle yelled back, "What are they?"
Jordan replied, "I don't know, but I gotta do them before I can come out."

"Your attitude today has been negative, Jordan," I said to my overly-tired little boy.
"What does negative mean?" he asked me.
"Well, it means grumpy, whiny, ornery, irritable." I replied, my list could have gone on and on.
"Like sad and mad?" Maddi asked.
"That would be S-M-A-D!" Jordan said--impressed with his own word invention he added, "We need to teach Cajsa and Onie our new word!"
"Yes," Maddi replied, "Sad and mad all mixed together!"

What has your child, grandchild, niece or nephew said this week that is worth writing down? Take a minute to jot down their wisdom. It will not only make you smile, it will help remind you of the simple treasures they teach you.

That picture is toooooo adorable. Grandma

I do write a few things down that the kids say- I have a "notes" section on my desktop to jot things down. One of the funny ones I remember was when we were at fleet farm going by the insulation, I believe it was Lewis that said "MOM!! Can we buy some of THOSE soft fuzzy blankets!?" Ummm... ya. You do NOT want THOSE as blankets! ;-) Looking through a childs eyes is quite interesting. lol
